Surfing and Beaches Surfing / Beaches: (5 min walk from hotel)

Fish Hoek beach is one of the safest in the Cape for bathing and bodyboarding and, when the wind picks up, hobie-cats and windsurfers take to the waves. The magnificent beach, reached through a secure parking area, is great for swimming, snorkelling, hobie-cat sailing and paddle-skiing. Visitors are sometimes treated to the sight of the local fishermen `trekking´ for haarders and yellowtail fish off Fish Hoek beach. The beach has a playground for children, a refreshment kiosk and restaurant.

The little fishing harbour is lively and interesting. In the afternoons the fishing boats come back and unload their catches. The fish - mainly snoek - is immediately auctioned to dealers. Of course one can also buy fish privately for little money. However, it is easier to go to one of the many Fish & Chips shops or visit one of the two excellent fish restaurants at the harbour. Line fishing is permitted off the rocks.
